The first-ever Veterinary Disease Diagnostic Testing Laboratory at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore has received “Certificate of Accreditation” from the Pakistan National Accreditation Council (PNAC), which has mutual recognition arrangements with the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and Asia Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (APLAC).
The laboratory, established through the funding of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, has been included in the list of those disease diagnostic laboratories having equivalence status for testing laboratories all over the world.
“It is a milestone in the history of UVAS and livestock sector of Pakistan that a veterinary disease diagnostic laboratory, both in veterinary and medical profession, has received international recognition, and its results are now acceptable worldwide,” says Prof. Dr. Masood Rabbani, director of the laboratory.
