The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) recently launched a National Learning Alliance (NLA) aiming at developing equitable Sustainable Agricultural Intensification (SAI) in Ethiopia.
The alliance was launched during an outcome mapping workshop held 27-28 March 2017 at ILRI in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It is part of the Sustainable Agricultural Intensification Research and Learning in Africa (SAIRLA) program that is expected to enable women, youth and smallholder farmers to participate and benefit from agricultural development.
The NLA will focus on improving the use of evidence in decision-making process, particularly among policymakers and investors in order to make agriculture more productive, environment friendly and also equitable in benefiting women and poorer smallholders.
